The fifth set looks great,

The fifth set looks great, although the creator forgot to make the notes different sizes as a recent Supreme Court ruling stated the Reserve Bank was discriminating against the blind by having equal sized notes and directed them to fix this. American money is an international joke as it is now as it is easy to counterfeit and costs an amazing amount to keep in circulation.. Australian money is the current world's best. Almost impossible to counterfeit, very durable, attractive, blind-person friendly (each note is progressively 6mm longer than the previous denomination.) and recyclable.

The best bit of all these is the loss of the ridiculous "In God We Trust" slogan.

It's the country's motto, dipshit. If you don't like it, move to Australia.

I don't trust god and I don't know a soul who is a christian and I don't live in a small circle of friends. I am glad I feel weird every time I see it

So what? If it is official that doesn' make it any less idiotic.

"In God We Trust" being on

Ryan Thomas's picture

"In God We Trust" being on American money is not as big of a deal as most make it out to be. Reason being is that it is basically tradition now. That is not to say that tradition is always right or shouldn't be changed, but it is a feature of the money now. That phrase makes it recognizable and distinctly American.

I liken it to the review process of American Football. If it was being originally designed now the money probably wouldn't have the phrase in question on it, but since the call came down already there is not enough evidence to overturn the decision. I hope that made sense for those familiar with Football.

Plus a majority of Americans believe in a God of some sort.

'In God We Trust' meant a different thing back then. A lot of the ideas behind our constitution come from natural rights, with even atheist Jefferson referring to nature as 'god'. There is nothing religious about it.

When we accept reality or pull our head out of ourselves, we can begin to be intelligent, and Christians can stop pretending this country was founded on Christianity.

I like the fact that it says

I like the fact that it says IN GOD WE TRUST on our currency. I hope that never changes. It's something that is unique to our currency and agree it's a important tradition, and an important one. Without traditions, all countries just become one big blah country. No distinction. Let's quit chipping away at them!

"In God We Trust" Is a simple discriminatory phrase that we see on the American currency. It is a statement that does not freely communicate the fact that "God" is not the only belief that we have as a single species (human if you couldn't guess). Besides I personally believe that it is about time that we stop using bedtime stories as an excuse for what we are responsible for. We are more intelligent than that.

I would also like to live to see the day 'under God' is removed from the Pledge of Allegiance... although both of these are far from violating the 'establishment of religion' set in the Amendment, it still bothers many.

Lame and nearing obsolete...the future is in the internet. I say don't bother redesigning money, rather, convert paper money to digital money and electronic banking.

Beside we have something better already, debit cards and credit cards!

imagine it said... "In Allah we trust" ... and dont give me that "well, it doesnt!!! thats not the tradition!!" reply.... the point is, if the tradition were something that was completely contrary to what you believed, would you maybe feel different about it? ... would you rather be accepted by your country than feel alienated by them... even though you had been born and raised here, and call yourself an American all your life.....

just some things to think about.....

Hey genius, "Allah" is the English transcription of the Arabic word for God. You don't have ground to stand on, idiot. Freaking n00bs.

OF COURSE we should remove

Anonymous's picture

OF COURSE we should remove "God" from every officious document. The 7% of Americans who identify themselves as "atheist" deserve nothing less.

This is 2010 America! We have a civic duty to appease every whiny minority's whim. To hell (if you choose to believe in such things) with democracy.

Oh yeah. some of those designs are nice...

Putting In God We Trust on

Anonymous's picture

Putting In God We Trust on money is sort of sacrilegious I think, at least an insult to the idea of God. But, much more important is the continued use of Federal Reserve Notes, WTF people they are worthless. How about Redeemable in Gold?
