A teacher once told us: ‘the moment you ask yourself if you are happy, you are no longer happy.” I think he was quoting some writer and we all nodded sagely. 56 years of life have taught me that this is not true. You can indeed assess your life, and conclude that you are motivated, advantaged compared to many people, full of life and purpose, surrounded by good people, free from serious want, and, indeed, happy.
An arrow to the original question from “Change something” would improve it because after changing something one would need to reassess and act accordingly. And, if the arrow were there, at some point, the cycle will end at the keep doing whatever you’re doing (at which point the original question does not need answering). But the additional arrow would make the poster seem like a joke and people would not find it compelling. That is, it would in effect trivialize it and continued engagement with it would cease, thereby, failing to reach its goal, namely “Keep doing whatever you’re doing,” where–strictly speaking–the answer formally ends.
And yes, as you can see from the above, I am not happy.
You could have an arrow from Are you happy?-Yes to Do you want to be happy?
For people who, you know, are on prescription anti-depressants against their will and really miss being down, but are just too damned happy now to go back.
Actually the “missing” arrow is the only hope you can ever escape that flowchart.
If that arrow existed you’d be stuck reading this flow chart forever.
Because on the other end you’d have to keep doing whatever you’re doing now and what you’re doing when reading this is reading that flowchart…so you’ll have to keep doing this forever, no matter if you’re happy or not and you will eventually become unhappy if you’re devoting your life to reading one single flowchart.
But maybe it’s a zen-thing, I don’t understand yet.
You forgot an arrow.
yes, after “change something”, an arrow to the first question would be nice.
you’re both special
am i happy
Actually there are two dead ends on this flow chart.
Yes, but the “Keep doing whatever you’re doing” is the goal of the chart. If you end up there, the process is complete and no need to start over.
Another arrow to “Keep Doing Whatever You’re Doing” would work, too (since you’d be changing something).
Nice
Just make my mood..
Oooh, my favoritest thing is the ad for the cult underneath. Spiffy.
all of the arrows are fine..
the point is – if you want to be happy and your not, then just try to change something!
LOL@ those bemoaning the lack of an arrow. I trust you aren’t stuck…
I’m off down to the shops, anyone want anything?

hey, dR dMo, I would like some bread from the shop if it wouldn’t be troubling you too very much.
You know, it’s hard to walk many places these days since that car hit me 4 times in 6 days. Those guys were vicious.
Anyways, I’m a big fan of semolina bread, but whatever you find there I’m sure will be fine.
Cheers,
R. H. To
chill out with the arrow comments, it doesn’t need analyzing
