probably not photoshopped.
somebody (not verified) — Sat, 02/27/2010 - 20:09probably not photoshopped. It's kind of sad that the crab is in some trash, but it just goes to show how nature can adapt to just about anything...unlike us humans (and yes, I'm kind of guilty of that). Another example is when plants grow in sidewalk cracks or when tree roots do the same. Go little cute crabbie!
“Make due” means nothing
Kate Gladstone (not verified) — Sat, 02/27/2010 - 09:48“Make due” means nothing whatsoever, according to every dictionary and everyone but you.
Either you, or someone you trusted, misunderstood "make do" and made up a meaning for the misunderstanding.

@ fiona and ejes: Both make
fenderflip (not verified) — Wed, 12/16/2009 - 11:38@ fiona and ejes: Both make do, and make due will work in this situation. "Make do" means to make something work for something it isn't normally used for. "Make due" means to accomplish something even though you don't have what is ideal for the achievement.
@ sleepwalker: It's best to
fenderflip (not verified) — Wed, 12/16/2009 - 11:33@ sleepwalker: It's best to keep your mouth closed and be assumed an idiot, rather than open it and remove all doubt. I am an expert, and this isn't PhotoShopped.
It is a cute crab though! Sebastien off little mermaid!!

Fiona wasn't responding to Mikhael, dipshit. She was reponding to an older comment by ejes. Ironically, what she said applies to you too. Also, props to Fiona.
@Fiona your a little fu*ken
Carol (not verified) — Thu, 11/26/2009 - 22:53@Fiona your a little fu*ken troll bitch! theres nothing wrong with what Mikhael said. Grow up and stop trying to pick fights on the internet, now run along and go kill youself pls! thanks :)

Fiona (not verified) — Thu, 11/26/2009 - 11:31@ ejes
If you're going to be really patronising and correct someone, try not to be a total moron and make sure they're actually wrong before coming out with some complete garbage (and not the kind a crab can use). It's make 'do'. And good for the crab, if it's real ;-)
If you know anything about
mikhael (not verified) — Thu, 11/26/2009 - 11:08If you know anything about hermit crabs, you will know that they will make do with literally anything they can fit in. As they outgrow, they shuck the old shell, and pick a new one. There's no way that it will get stuck, and actually, due to the salt water, it's cleaner than most of the painted shells you can buy at the store. Whilst yes, it's sad that we litter (extremely) as has been pointed out several times, you should be happy nature is adapting to deal with us
I'm continually appalled by
Suse (not verified) — Thu, 11/26/2009 - 10:35I'm continually appalled by the amount of rubbish we leave behind. This little crab could be in trouble if he can't get the bottle top of its back! None of nature's creatures need our rubbish. Here's the typical strong case for cleaning up our act.
Way to recycle, little dude!

Everyone gets all upset about
baloo (not verified) — Thu, 11/26/2009 - 02:47Everyone gets all upset about bottle caps in the ocean.... cause we are polluting the sea.... riiiiight.... what about the oceans pollution of the land! Nothing sickens me more than walking along a nice clean beach and seeing all the shells, seaweed and other rubbish dumped there by thoughtless marine animals...disgusting

I think the pic is fake. A
J Andrew Davies (not verified) — Wed, 11/25/2009 - 08:00I think the pic is fake. A hermit crab needs a spiraling hole to be able to hold on to a shell. Its tail goes in for about the length as what is outside the shell when it scuttles.
Hmmm, did anyone consider
Hugo (not verified) — Tue, 11/24/2009 - 14:53Hmmm, did anyone consider this little fellow might have cracked and sharpened the bottle himself? Don't want to run into this little creature... You never know what could happen. Or it might have been intoxicated by the contents and its brain destroyed so it could not distinguish between a shell and a piece of junk, just like many other coca cola victims :-)
Crabie in a bottle.....

be glad its not plastic.
Plastic could kill that crab.
I am so, ashamed of us.
Hey, if the crab can manage
Chris (not verified) — Mon, 11/23/2009 - 11:20Hey, if the crab can manage to keep that bottle top on it, then more power to the little guy. Still, we need to watch how we treat the environment. The glass bottle might not be harmful to the crab, but it wouldn't be very fun for the next guy walking barefoot on the beach if he didn't scuttle off with it.
its a crab.... it realy dosnt
Kizer (not verified) — Mon, 11/23/2009 - 09:33its a crab.... it realy dosnt care its got a shell its happy! if u want to bitch about poluting then bitch about the people dumping in the sea or factorys pumping chemicals into the river and air or look at the mountains of trash covering large parts of asia cos its cheaper to export waste than to clean it up
haha, what a cutie
